Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible for Vercel for Startups?

Applications are evaluated using the following criteria:

  • Startup must be affiliated with an approved Startups Partner (see full dropdown list above). This typically includes companies in accelerators, those backed by Venture Capital firms, or startups that meet certain criteria set by Vercel.
  • Startup must not have previously received Vercel for Startups credits.
  • Startup must have raised a Series A or less, and must apply within 12 months from their most recent funding round.
  • Startup must have a company website, and an email address that matches the company website.
  • Startup must have proof (screenshot of partner dashboard, hub, wiki, or console) demonstrating affiliation with an approved Vercel for Startups partner.
What are Vercel Credits?

Vercel Credits are a fixed discount that can be used towards your Vercel usage, including seats, faster data transfer, compute, and more. These credits allow you to use Vercel's pro features without immediate cost, helping you to scale your startup efficiently.

Vercel Credits are only available on the Pro and Pro Trial plans. Credits are automatically subtracted from your monthly subscription fees. Total credits issued are divided into equal monthly increments. For example, $30,000 in credits would be issued as $2,500 credits/month for 12 months. Unused credits do not roll over to the next month.

Do Vercel Credits apply to v0?

v0 is a separate product line, so Vercel Credits cannot currently be applied to v0. We are exploring how to bring v0 credits to the Startup program, too!

Outside of Vercel Credits, what other benefits do I receive as part of Vercel for Startups?

After your first year, you can continue using Vercel with our standard pricing plans. Please note that once your Vercel for Startups benefits have been activated, they cannot be postponed to a later date.
How do I apply for Vercel for Startups?
To apply for Vercel for Startups, fill out the application form on this page. You'll need to provide your email, select or create a Vercel team, choose your startup partner, and provide proof of partnership. Our team will review your application and get back to you within 5-7 days. If your application is approved, you will receive an activation email notifying you that your credits have been activated.
Why does Vercel ask me to select a team?
Credits are applied to a single team and not an individual’s account. Once the credits are applied, they cannot be transferred to a different team.
What does up to $30,000 in credits mean?
The amount of credits you receive depends on the deal Vercel and your Startup Partner agreed upon and may vary between partners, up to a maximum of $30,000.
When will my credits be applied?
Once your application is approved, credits will take effect on your next monthly invoice and will be applied to monthly subscription invoices moving forward. Credits will not be retroactive to previously paid invoices and credits will not be applied to mid-cycle invoices for add-on purchases (e.g. password protection, concurrent builds, monitoring, preview deployment suffix, analytics, etc.). Add-on purchases will be covered by credits in the next monthly subscription invoice. Issuance of credits as at Vercel's sole discretion. Vercel reserves the right to revoke your credits at any time for any reason, include abuse violations.
What if I am not associated with a Vercel for Startups Partner?
The Vercel for Startups program is still in its early stages and is an exclusive offer to our Startup Partners. We plan to make this offer more accessible, but at this time you need to be affiliated with one of our Startup Partners to join the program.
Why is a payment method required if I have credits?

A payment method is required for all Pro plan customers. As a reminder, you can limit how much you spend on Vercel.

Where can I view my credits?

To view current bill:

  • Navigate to your Team's Dashboard in Vercel
  • Select "Settings"
  • Select "Billing"

You should see a $0.00 bill. Clicking "View Charges" will give you a detailed breakdown.

To view your past invoices:

  • Navigate to your Team's Dashboard in Vercel
  • Select "Settings"
  • Select "Invoices"

You should see a "Discount" badge next to invoices that have Vercel Credits applied.

Please note, you will not be able to view discounts while on a Pro Trial. They will be visible once your account converts to a Pro account. Also, the Vercel Dashboard's upcoming invoice UI currently has an issue where it is not aware of discounts that start in the next period, even though they affect the upcoming invoice. We apologize for the lack of visibility and insight this provides, and we are working on a fix.
